Struan is a commercial law partner specialising in property and finance. His specific areas of focus in property include advising both landlords and tenants on commercial and retail leasing.
Struan’s finance related work involves acting for a number of lending institutions and advising on issues that arise in the finance sector. This includes lending, enforcement and regulatory compliance including compliance with the Financial Markets Conduct Act and the Credit Contracts and Consumer Finance Act. Much of his advice concerns the rights and obligations of mortgagees.
Outside of work, Struan has helped raise three children and has spent much of his time coaching children’s sports teams. He now spends a lot of his time at both cultural and sporting events as well as time in the outdoors – hunting and tramping but also working as a Council Conservation Volunteer in the Waiatarua Reserve.
