I specialise in civil and insurance litigation. I advise insurers on areas including professional indemnity and public liability claims, material damage and business interruption, RMA prosecutions, and insurance fraud.
I also represent construction companies and other parties in the building industry. I have extensive experience in building defect litigation, working closely with engineers, scientists, quantity surveyors and other industry experts. I appear regularly in the District Court and High Court.
My recent experience includes acting for insurers on High Court proceedings arising from the Canterbury earthquakes, including high value commercial premises, and acting for a leading construction company in a leaky building claim in the High Court relating to a multi-story apartment complex.
I am recognised as a recommended lawyer for insurance work by the Legal 500 Asia Pacific 2021 legal directory, and have memberships with the New Zealand Law Society, Auckland District Law Society and the New Zealand Insurance Law Association.
