Sarah Britz


Sarah is an insurance and commercial litigation lawyer, with a wide range of experience in dispute work.

She has a particular interest in the life insurance sector, having previously had in-house experience. Sarah regularly advises insurers on disputes, as well as providing general advice on day-to-day matters. She also provides indemnity and liability advice to general insurers in respect of complex claims.

Sarah has a key interest in professional indemnity insurance and regularly assists professionals facing civil proceedings, including engineers and architects. She also assists health professionals going through the complaint and disciplinary process including doctors, nurses, psychologists, physiotherapists, optometrists, and dentists.

She has experience in commercial litigation, both in the District Court and in the High Court, advising on complex contractual disputes, building and construction claims, and debt recovery matters.

Sarah is outcome focused and looks for pragmatic and commercial solutions for her clients.

Recent highlights

  • Assisting an insurer client at mediation where the customer disputed the termination of a claim.

  • Assisting a homeowner at a multiple party mediation in respect of a building dispute.

  • Assisting a nurse practitioner at a meeting with the Professional Conduct Committee following a complaint.
