Emma Currie

I am a civil and commercial litigation lawyer in the Wellington litigation and dispute resolution team. I act on a broad range of disputes for both companies and private individuals, as well as insurers.
I have experience acting in the District Court, High Court and specialist tribunals and have advised on a range of different types of claims, including injunctions and judicial review applications.
I have a particular interest in insolvency, with significant experience advising liquidators, creditors and directors on insolvency matters. I regularly provide advice on directors duties and enforcement procedures such as debt recovery, liquidations and bankruptcies.
I am results orientated and the focus of my practice is on developing a pragmatic and strategic pathway for my clients towards dispute resolution.
I have contributed to LexisNexis Practical Guidance and assisted in the development of their online costs tool for subscribers.
Prior to joining Duncan Cotterill, I worked at a specialist commercial and litigation law firm in Wellington and then for the Government Legal Department in London, where I acted for the Secretary of State in judicial review applications.
