Chris Linton

I specialise in corporate/commercial and technology law, advising public and private sector entities in New Zealand and offshore. My areas of expertise include corporate advisory, mergers and acquisitions, foreign investment (greenfields, acquisition, distributorship, joint ventures, and ongoing NZ operations), strategic alliances, ICT projects, transactions and dispute resolution, outsourcing, cloud, digital and gaming. I also advise tech start-ups and high growth companies on structuring, investment and governance, TOU, key supplier/customer contracts, partnering/channel arrangements, licensing (SaaS, on premise and metrics), privacy and data protection.

Before joining Duncan Cotterill, I was a partner at another national law firm in Wellington for eight years and at a specialist commercial law firm in Auckland for ten years. I also worked in London with leading global firm Linklaters, principally on cross border mergers and acquisitions and financing. Through this, I developed close relationships and networks internationally.

I am on the Committee of the Blockchain Association, President of the New Zealand Scandinavian Business Association and Treasurer of Franklin Toastmasters.
