Duncan Cotterill has assisted New Zealand medical transport and logistics provider Cedra Express (Cedra) on the sale of its medical courier business to UPS Healthcare-owned Marken.

Cedra was founded in 2001 by Graham Tappin to provide time and temperature sensitive courier services for the safe and secure transportation of irreplaceable clinical trial materials, diagnostic specimens, and healthcare related shipments.

Following completion on 1 September 2022, the business will be known as Marken New Zealand, with operations in Auckland and Christchurch, and will be able to expand its service offerings to the local clinical trial client base.

Duncan Cotterill Christchurch commercial Partner Oliver Roberts with support from Senior Associate Peter Fernando and Solicitor Nick Meates advised long standing client Cedra on the sale. Nexia Partner Jane Jackman and Client Manger Kaye Vincent supported the transaction from an accounting perspective.
