Immigration New Zealand has announced the new median wage of NZD$31.61 an hour will be adopted into the immigration system from February 2024.
The Accredited Employer work visa scheme and also skilled residence categories include wage thresholds or criteria based on the median wage.
Employers who currently have overseas workers with visas due to expire in 2024, should begin preparing now to ensure that this increase is factored into their planning for next year. For those overseas workers who wish to renew their visas, they may wish to consider applying for a new work visa before February 2024.
