Immigration New Zealand has just announced that the government is pausing the median wage increase for Accredited Employer Work Visa (AEWV) applications. This was due to increase in late February 2024.
This means that current median wage rates remain in place for AEWV applications.
They are:
- $29.66 per hour for migrants employed on most AEWVs.
- $26.16 per hour for AEWV holders covered by the Care Workforce Sector Agreement
- $26.69 per hour for some occupations within the construction sector.
- Other specific wage rates also apply.
Please note that this is only for AEWV applications. The increase in median wage will still affect Skilled Migrant Category and Parent Category resident visa applications.
