Lena specialises in complex investigations and disputes, focusing on commercial, regulatory and insurance matters.
She advises corporates and directors on a variety of commercial disputes. This includes directors’ duties, contractual issues, company law and property matters.
Lena regularly assists clients in defending regulatory investigations and prosecutions involving WorkSafe, Department of Conservation, Maritime NZ, FMA and the Commerce Commission, among other regulators.
She advises international and domestic insurers on indemnity issues as well as assisting policyholders in defending liability claims. These include directors’ and officers’, professional indemnity, statutory liability, and other liability policies across financial and casualty lines.
Having worked in both private legal practice (at boutique and large firms) and in-house for one of Australasia’s leading insurers, Lena has a well-rounded understanding of clients’ needs and provides solution-focused advice to support their objectives.
