I regularly advise on a range of contentious and non-contentious IP issues, including copyright infringement, domain name ownership, designs, and brand protection.
My experience in managing trade mark portfolios ranges across both domestic and international brands. I have particular expertise in strategising risk associated with launching new brands and advising on the commercialisation, transfer and enforcement of trade mark rights. I oversee clearance, protection and prosecution of significant trade mark portfolios, and assists with the litigation and dispute resolution side of the IP practice.
I advise both local and international trade mark owners across a wide range of industries, including fashion, technology, cosmetics and personal care goods, food and beverage, household consumer goods, pharmaceutical/nutraceutical, and agribusiness. Managing a number of key client relationships for the IP team.
My consumer and marketing law experience largely centres around Fair Trading Act issues, regulation and compliance with the Food Standards Codes, and Advertising Standards Code compliance. I also have a particular interest in media law issues.
I am a member of the International Trade Mark Association (INTA), the Intellectual Property Society of Australia and New Zealand (IPSANZ), and the New Zealand Law Society.
