I specialise in intellectual property (IP), and consumer and marketing law.
I regularly advise on a range of contentious and non-contentious IP issues, including copyright infringement, domain name ownership, designs, and brand protection.
I have particular experience in managing trade mark portfolios nationally and internationally, strategizing risk associated with launching new brands and advising on the commercialisation, transfer and enforcement of trade mark rights.
I advise both local and international trade mark owners across a wide range of industries, including fashion, technology, cosmetics and personal care goods, food and beverage, household consumer goods, pharmaceutical/nutraceutical, and agribusiness.
My consumer and marketing law experience largely centres around Fair Trading Act issues, regulation and compliance with the Food Standards Codes, and Advertising Standards Code compliance. I also have a particular interest in media law issues.
I am a member of the International Trade Mark Association (INTA), the Intellectual Property Society of Australia and New Zealand (IPSANZ), and the New Zealand Law Society.
