I am a dispute resolution lawyer with a particular focus on insurance law and regulatory matters. I have broad experience, having previously worked with a leading financial services law firm and in public law.
My work includes advising insurers on indemnity in relation to general and statutory liability, representing insurers in the civil jurisdiction, and acting for individuals and companies in the regulatory/criminal jurisdiction under insurance policies and otherwise.
I have represented clients in the District Court, the High Court, the Maori Land Court and a significant government inquiry.
Recent work of note includes:
- Acting for businesses who have been prosecuted or investigated under the Health and Safety at Work Act.
- Acting for businesses who have been prosecuted by the Commerce Commission for Fair Trading Act breaches.
- Acting for insurers in relation to construction and other issues arising from the Canterbury and Kaikoura earthquakes.
