He has represented some of the world’s largest and leading trademark owners in relation to their trademark issues in New Zealand, Australia and elsewhere. Prior to joining Duncan Cotterill, Damian spent 28 years at a large specialist IP firm, including leading the trademark team and 7 years as Managing Partner.

Damian specialises in the strategic management of trademark portfolios, including trade mark development, clearance and ongoing protection and renewal. He is also a Notary Public.

Damian has regularly been selected by clients and peers for listing in publications such as Best Lawyers in the New Zealand IP category, Managing Intellectual Property’s IP Stars, World Intellectual Property Review’s WIPR Leaders, World Trademark Review’s WTR Global Leaders and The Legal 500 Asia Pacific’s leading lawyers.
