Chris is an experienced corporate lawyer, with a particular focus on mergers and acquisition, capital raising, takeovers, joint ventures and other complex commercial arrangements.

Chris advises a variety of clients, including international venture capital funds investing into New Zealand companies, large listed companies and start-up/growth companies, particularly in the New Zealand technology sector.

  • Advising Octopus Ventures (UK-based venture capital fund) on its lead investment in Fergus Software’s Series B capital raise.
  • Advising Superb Herb on the sale of its well-known fresh herb business to a private New Zealand operator.
  • Advising a well-known New Zealand coffee brand on a series of acquisitions related to growth of its roastery and distribution business.
  • Advising Move Logistics (NZX: MOV) on its fuel haulage services agreement with Z Energy.
  • Advising Wellington-based organic fragrance business, Abel Odor, on its capital raising efforts in which it successfully secured funding from a New Zealand venture capital fund.
  • Advising Auckland-based fashion business, Paris Georgia, on its capital raising efforts in which it successfully secured funding from a New Zealand venture capital fund.
  • Advising Foxton-based horticulture business, 26 Seasons, on a Series A Capital Raise and employee share option scheme.
  • Advising New Zealand gaming company, Synty Studios, on its pre-Seed capital raising efforts.
  • Advising New Zealand Rural Land Company (NZX:  NZL) on an Accelerated Renounceable Entitlement Offer (AREO) to finance the acquisition of two Southland dairy farms.
  • Advising Move Logistics on its employee long term incentive scheme.
