Billie is an insurance litigation lawyer, with a particular focus on professional indemnity insurance.
She specialises in medico-legal litigation, assisting a broad range of health professionals including doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, psychologists, counsellors, dentists, and optometrists in relation to complaints and disciplinary proceedings. Billie also assists other professionals including social workers facing complaints and disciplinary proceedings, and architects and engineers facing civil proceedings.
Billie regularly provides indemnity and liability advice to insurers regarding complex claims.
She also has experience in general commercial litigation, and the alcohol law sector and has assisted various alcohol industry participants including supermarkets, bar operators, off-licence holders, and individual alcohol managers with all aspects of alcohol licensing and enforcement.
Billie has experience in both small and large-scale litigation and has appeared in hearings before the High Court, District Court, Coroner’s Court, Health Practitioners Disciplinary Tribunal, Alcohol Regulatory and Licensing Authority, and various District Licensing Committees and professional boards.
She is outcome focused and enjoys working collaboratively with her clients to find the solutions that best meet their needs.
She is currently on parental leave.
