Today, NZ Lawyer announced their Rising Stars for 2023 and the firm is thrilled that Queenstown Partner Louise McNaughton and Wellington Senior Associate Edward Greig have achieved this recognition. The NZ Lawyer list comprises 50 of the most promising young lawyers in New Zealand’s legal industry and we are pleased to include two of our own in this list.

Louise is a commercial lawyer and specialises in high value commercial property syndication as well as working closely with a wide range of clients on all commercial, construction, property and private client matters. Her clients range from individuals to local and national businesses and property developers (both commercial and residential) and she acts on many high value transactions. She regularly advises on the sale and purchase of commercial and residential property, subdivisions, financing matters, construction and development projects, trusts and charitable trusts, acquisition and sale of business, governance of businesses and all leasing matters for commercial, retail and industrial assets. She was appointed a Partner in our Queenstown office in 2021 following Duncan Cotterill’s acquisition of Mackersy Legal.

Edward is a commercial litigation and dispute resolution lawyer. He advises clients on a wide range of commercial disputes and has a particular focus on matters which involve public and administrative law, intellectual property and insurance. Clients have commented that he “brings a superior intellect and litigation skills to any dispute” (Legal 500 Asia Pacific 2023). Edward provides clients with advice and advocacy in matters involving judicial review, contract, tort, fraud, equity, intellectual property, consumer law, defamation, privacy, and professional liability.

Congratulations Louise and Edward!
