Immigration NZ Updates Job Check Process for Employers
Immigration New Zealand (INZ) is making changes, based on feedback from the industry, to the Job Check stage of the Accredited Employer Work Visa (AEWV). This is to make the process faster and easier for employers.
Starting Monday 29 September 2025, a redesigned online Job Check form will be introduced. The new form includes:
- Clearer guidance to help employers understand what to include.
- Built-in checks to ensure all required information is submitted.
- Streamlined sections that match updated immigration rules.
These improvements aim to reduce delays and help employers get quicker decisions.
Employers will now be asked to provide more details upfront, such as:
- Why the role is needed.
- The size of the business.
- How many New Zealanders are currently employed.
This helps INZ better understand the business and make faster, more informed assessments.
Important consideration: Any draft applications in the current system must be submitted by 8am on Sunday 28 September. After that, employers will need to start fresh using the new form.
Updated guidance and support materials will be available to help employers adjust to the changes.
