Duncan Cotterill has contributed to a recently released Global Insurance Law Connect Risk Radar Report which focuses on Environment, Social and Governance (ESG). 

The report features insights from 21 countries and details the growing awareness globally of ESG risks and how the insurance industry is well positioned to respond.

Chair of Global Insurance Law Connect, Gillian Davidson, commented: “It is unsurprising that the consensus from our member firms is that ESG has become an increasingly important issue for insurers and the wider business community.”

Duncan Cotterill Insurance Partners Aaron Sherriff and Tanya Wood and Consultant Professor Rob Merkin contributed New Zealand’s perspective in the report. The section explains that ESG has been at forefront of legal and business changes in New Zealand with key legislative changes having an impact on governance practices, along with recent extreme weather events.
