In their words
Duncan Cotterill is a firm that respects the past, has a focus for the future while looks to make a difference in the present. I wanted to be a part of tradition but also part of history and Duncan Cotterill is the firm that achieves this. Bridget Williams, 2016 graduate.
At Duncan Cotterill you get immersed in great legal work, as well as two inductions throughout the year, where graduates in all four offices gather together to listen to people in the firm on topics that will assist you on your career path. I was assigned a peer support from the intake prior to mine. This is great as they have been in your position before and understand what it is like. They are the go to person when you are stuck and worry you are asking stupid questions about how to do something. Anita Chang, 2017 graduate.
In both of our rotations we got to do work for several partners but worked most closely with our supervising partners. They were keen to give us as much work and experience as possible and were extremely encouraging throughout our time with the firm. The partners invited us to client meetings; it was great to get first-hand experience and see how the partners conveyed themselves. Louise Merrick and Julie Qiu, 2016 summer clerks.
No other city has had an opportunity to remodel itself like Christchurch has. It's an incredibly exciting place to live and work in, with something new appearing every other week. Having only been built in the last few years, the Duncan Cotterill Christchurch office is a world-class facility, and a genuine head-turner for those passing by. Tomas Tappin, 2015/2016 summer clerk.
